The Michigan health department reported 17,008 new coronavirus cases over a three-day period on Monday, an average of 5,669 per day, bringing Michigan to 1,259,261 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
Another 83 coronavirus-related deaths have also been reported Monday, 32 of which were identified in a regular vital records review. This increases the state’s COVID-19 death toll to 23,315.

Of 57,373 confirmatory tests reported by the health department Thursday, 9,646 yielded positive results for a positivity rate of 16.81%
Data from the health department includes 167,930 probable cases and 1,613 probable deaths, for a total of 1,427,191 cases and 24,928 deaths.
